If my motor goes its R45k, dsg box pops its R45k, turbo goes its money. they downloaded my base OEM map and sent it off to a guy who edited it based on logs and ****, now that guy who does the edits said he can put my car on a dyno to tune it, my question is how safe is it? If a master holder he can do custom maps on your car, but that can cost you big bugs as its very time consuming(can cost the mater up to R350000 for all software,hardware and training and then still about R4000 for monthly fees to suppliers on software and hardware licences, only worth doing on big turbo custom build cars, they also load a pre-tuned map but then customize the map to get most performance. It all depends if the tuner is a slave or a master holder,slave holders can only upload maps that`s supplied from there master holder, very limited to any changes,they upload the map, run the car take logs and send them to the master holder and he change settings to suit your car, You get a base map (stage 1) and a base map (stage2)Ĭan the tuner set peramters on the software on a dyno, sort of like tuning or is it just a matter of load file and away you go?
